Has anyone used the Bilt & hamber clay before? Got one delivered today and started work on the Chim and ended up using T Cut to take out the scratches.
What should the clay do? As far as understood it took of any crap and left it ready to wax. But this left fine scratches no matter what I did.
Also used the balm and that works fantastically.

you have to make sure that the car has been washed prior to using the clay, i, also you should you some clay lube to help the bar glide across the pantwork.

Clay should leave the paint as smooth as glass by removing sap, tar and other microscopic things that normal washing does not remove.

I usually get the panel really wet with my normal wash of megs nxt shampoo. Divide the clay into smaller bits and kneed until soft. Then rub on the panel using long strokes until it glides nice and smooth. If it starts grabbing the surface then more lube is required. Fold the clay on itself every so often to present a clean surface. If you drop it or it gets grit on it throw that bit away and use one of the others.

One of the best steps you can do to get a nice overall result if doing a full detail imo.

yes to all the above.
It sounds to me that you just used the clay without any lube? Also to be noted is that Bilt Hamber clay is the only clay designed to be used with plain water as the lube rather than a detail spray.

If used correctly clay makes the surface feel smoother than you'd ever believe....

As an aside I wouldn't use 'T-Cut' on my TVR paint either as it's way too aggressive.

Clay is the way forward, it expensive for what it is. but it really does work wonders.

I used water sprayed on the bonnet and the bonnet had just been polished, but it still showed scratched. It couldn't of been any cleaner.

Clay won't remove scratches. You could try a swirl remover (Meguairs do one, although I've not used it).

I use Zymol Lehm Clay with the clay lube and get the most AWESOME results - the surface you think is clean and polished literally goes silent as you move your fingers across it.

I do this twice a year it takes me 4-6 hours to wash, clay and polish properly. Don't forget the clay lube smile

By god it's worth it!!
