Is it just Human Nature or what the F***??
Discussion
Hi guys, Some of you may remember Diane and I once owned a Midas Gold T350c?
Well we had that car over 4 years.Sold it recently to buy a narrow boat.Things are moving much to slow for me,so we decided to get back into TVR until we can get the boat.
We have now returned to the fold with what i can only describe as a near mint example of a 5 ltr Chim in Imperial Blue. And have now owned the car for one month exactly.
I recently took the car to work for the first time ,and just about everyone that came outside to see her said things like "Thats efin gorgious"..."love the colour" Etc etc, And i proceded to tell them all that she was over 10 years old, which took them all by surprize.
Now here is the bit that p*sses me off more than anything, and i wish people would just be pleased for me,but the comments start coming once they have been looking for a while, such as, "Bit of a stone chip there Dave"...."Shame the dealer did'nt replace that cracked number plate for you"....and "Not many more miles on those rear tyres mate". and "whats that mark on the passenger seat?" Is it just human nature to point out whats wrong with other peoples things?, as the car has thousands of bits that are right on it.
So does anyone have any handy tips to say back to these people?
Dave

F*** off works for me Dave

Seriously though I usually say something like 'You're getting desperate if all you can do is point out minor things like that' or 'Lets go and pick holes in your car then shall we'
Unfortunately some people are like that. You know you've got a good car, that's all that matters.
I had the same when I purchased my Tuscan (
), people pointing out faults on a 6 month old car, it took them a lot of looking.
Don't let it bother you walk over to theirs a have fun pointing out faults, stonechips etc.
Alternatively a quick punch to the face will stop further nit picking.

ive had the same thing with mine, on the way back from picking it up (mate gave me a lift) he was very happy to point out the reverse light went out when i moved in reverse "ooh you wanna get that sorted mate" he said looking a very odd green colour. and many others since with other comments, basicly its just envy and it actually brings a smile to my face how pathetic it actually is. ask them to show you their ultra fast super sexy sports car

Thing is Dave mate...were you looking in your mirror as you drove off after work.....did you see the greeny tinge on their faces.....
And even for those that weren't watching you go, I'd bet a nickel for a dime that even those inside heard you leave......and you think that no-ones gonna comment on that V8 roar....
Nah.....let it all wash over you...summer's coming........top'll be down and they will be clapping in the streets as usual!(remember on the way to Knebworth

The stone chip?? Oh yea, I got that doing 160mph with the roof off, it was worth it.
The crack in the number plate?? Not a problem, some bloody Ferrari was holding me up so I bumped him out of the way.
The mark on the passanger seat?? Dont even ask...but have you noticed the smile on the wifes face?
Come on Dave, youve got to be quicker with those smart arsed replies.
