I keep hearing stories about New Tvr's being under development, is there any truth in this.
I heard the name Paul Mackie mentioned, any substance behind this statement / name involved in potential New Cars????

I've been told there are indeed plans from various sources.

I believe though that there is no money.

Indeed, various sources to remain unnamed state that theres still lots of work done behind the scenes together with certain parties, but plans do 'seem to change every fortnight or so (nothing new there!) Also from the (system) supplier side of things it's been noted that 'Smolenski doesn't do himself any favours with his clever, but sometimes morally questionable antics' - still, they'd very much like the brand to be reinstated...

much discussed, and never going to happen imo.

Rumours are just that, and at this stage complete pie in the sky as far as I'm concerned. Even if they announce tomorrow that they're going back into production I'll believe it when I see finished ones rolling off the production line.

I believe that Diecast Legends already have a few produced, as far as I'm aware they do not appear to be producing any additional ones. wink

I've often wondered who the people are that construct the secret missile bases, or underground bunkers, or any kind of secret installation our governments and military are involved in. Surely at some time these efforts require the use of the local plumber or a delivery waggon from B&Q. Not all these thousands of people involved can be sworn and uphold the official secrets act. It stand to reason there must be the odd piss head brickie or sparky that blabs his hard day at the office routine down the local.

My point?

If the governments and armed forces of the world can keep big st quiet, I'm sure it can't be too difficult for a covert TVR resurrection to be in the pipeline? Then again, maybe the News of the World knows a pissed up welder somewhere in the Midlands?

Not new models but updated existing ones. They moved into a new location about two weeks ago.
Derek is correct about money being tight.

I'm still a pessemist about anything ever appearing at a realistic price for what is now a 'start-up' company.

Sounds an entirely more sensible thing to to than trying to breathe life into the looks-awkward-even-as-a-virtual-artists-impression 600 bhp Typhoon pipe dream.

If the rumours are correct and production is being considered but at a very low level, certainly not up to how it was immediately before NS bought TVR (the first time), then I am more hopeful than I've been for some time. If the plans are more realistic then who can say. After all, Ginetta are innundated with orders for the G50 and it is by no means as developed as latter TVRs.

I would dearly love the rumours to be true but I cannot see anyone wanting to do business with Smolenski without a bank guarantee in place or cash up front unless they want to commit financial suicide.
