Cambs run out to Essex - Sunday 6th April
Discussion
Anyone up for a run out over to Essex ?
We're planning a day out next Sunday and wondered if anyone was interested in tagging along for the ride ?
We're planning to leave at 11am, from the A505 nr Melbourne, Cambs. heading over to Manningtree for an early lunch then onto the Colne Valley Railway to see the steam locomotives.
The day obviously comes with the obligatory blast through the countryside and B roads there and back....

Hi jonka,
Glad to hear you're up for the run out - the convoy should be arriving in Essex about 12:30(ish) to have lunch at Manningtree Railway Buffet Car.
Manningtree Railway Station, Station Road, Lawford, Manningtree, Essex, CO11 2LH
We then plan to leave there at about 1:30pm and head off to the planned afternoon attraction of proper Steam Locomotives at the Colne Valley Railway, where we will be able to ride on a 662 Martello Steam Train built in 1875 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway and relive days gone by with afternoon tea & cakes in a fantastic setting.
Colne Valley Railway, Castle Hedingham, CO9 3DZ. http://www.colnevalleyrailway.co.uk/index.php
Looking for to seeing you on Sunday
Zoe
