Anyone in the Essex area fancy a trip out this afternoon?

The weather is supposed to be good later on (might be now.... but I'm 500 yards away from a window!) and I was thinking I might go for a bit of a drive. Wondered if anyone else fancied coming along.

The plan was to set off from Chelmsford (Springfield to be precise) at about 5 o'clock, then head out to Chipping Ongar, up the B184 to Gt Dumnow and depending on the time, possibly beyond to the Thaxted area.

Going to be taking it quite gently as I'm still not that familiar with the car, but if anyone else in the area is interested in going out for a hoon give me a shout...

i was thinking the same ! but where i work at enfield its started raining
cant make 5 pm but hopefully the sun will shine in essex later
hope to be at mid essex next weekend, bring on some nice weather

That's a coincidence. Although the car is still kept at my old house in Chelmsford I'm in the process of moving to Enfield (Chaseside sort of area).

Fingers crossed, it still looks quite sunny in Laindon.

EDIT: I shouldn't have said that. It's spitting with rain now.

More worryingly this seems to happen every time I propose doing something on PH. I think I'm sort sort of evil omen.

Got other things to do this evening, so I think I'll give it a miss. Ah well, I'm back in Chelmsford on Friday, maybe the sun will be out then. Wet roads sound like quite an amusing prospect, but I need to get my hood repaired beforehand.
