Does anyone recognise this company???

Hi there - My S1 was sold via Fleabay 3 days ago & I've just had a call from a guy reporting to work for a company called "The Blackpool Motor Company". They apparently used his own private log on to fleabay to buy my car.

He states that the guy that actually bought the car is away on business now until next week but he'll call me from Monday to sort out payment/collection.

The guy that called me is based in Sidcup, Kent.

Call me cynical, but it just sounds a little odd that a car company would have to use someone else's ebay account to buy my car???

Anyone ever heard of Blackpool Motor Company? Granted there is obviously a connection with Tiv's & Blackpool...

Ps - i cant find anything for Blackpool Motor Company on the net.

Sounds odd to me. The bloke that called didn't have a Nigerean accent did he?

It's not a company I've heard of and I live in Preston near Blackpool.

I'd want guarenteed cleared funds before letting the cars go.

Just read your other thread about the scammers through PH classifieds, looks like your luck is not in at the moment, hope something works out for you. (You could take this as a sign not to sell from the TVR gods!!)

Ironically the guy that called did "sound" very straight forward & "honest" (but then he would....) I'm not so sure that the company is based "Oop North", as i said, the guy calling is in Sidcup, Kent, (i have his address/tel from Ebay). I'm wondering if any Tiv Owners in the south/Kent area know this company? As for the nigerian thing - you should see my thread under the "S Series". The car was advertised in classifieds here - i've had 4 potential scam emails in 2 weeks....This site vets them well........NOT....

I've had 4 of the 5 pound coins, and two 50ps that are currently in my pocket rejected by 3 different car park machines 40 miles apart.

This is White Beam, the address for the Blackpool motor company.

It’s the half of the building in the foreground in the photo. The other half is another cottage. The photo of the car is in the driveway to White Beam. It is the only vehicle parked there and this appears to be the only area for vehicles at the address.

The area is nice and is proper old Kent village.

To the rear of the property are open fields. There isn’t room here for any motor trade activity on site. This is right off the beaten track.

I assume it is the home address of someone trading from another premises. There are plenty of farm buildings in the area and there might be something in one tucked away, but not on the site. Sidcup would be about 30 minutes commuting from Plaxtol.

I'm pleased to see you're on your guard. Nothing annoys me more than scamming, thieving scum but there's an outside chance this is genuine so don't burn your bridges. I was once contacted by someone when I was selling a god-awful kit car. He claimed to represent a museum in the USA which turned out to be true (though why the feck they wanted my car is beyond me).

The picture is of a Directors Home. Blackpool Motor Company is based in Blackpool. It employs a number of former TVR people, and will offer an engine upgrade for the Tuscan, and a number of body panels for Tuscan, Sagaris etc. The purchase of the S1 is for a private project. Thanks for the warnings of scams, but having met Roger Breakwell I probably no more than most.
