Just had the protective film put on the front of my Griff to protect from stone chips. Its a dark mica blue and I was a little worried there would be an easily spotted line but it looks brilliant and is hardly noticable. Thanks to Steve at Protectacar!

I had mine done a few months ago, well worth it. As you know Greenback, it's a bit of a stone magnet!thumbup

Mine was the first Griff they'd done, that was at Romsey 15months ago - I'm still pleased with the result.

I would be very grateful for an idea as to how much this costs, my Griff is getting resprayed at the moment and I hadn't really considered this as an option but perhaps I should? biggrin

My Chim was done by Armourfend about 3 years ago. Really great job, many separate custom cut pieces even on the sills behind the front wheel arches. Every forward facing panel (except door mirrors) is covered.

I'm really pleased with the finish too but NOT cheap. About £450.00 then. You can see the edges as a fine line but I'm going to try some of that self coloured polish just along those areas to try to blend it in better. If not, it's still far better than the inevitable stone chips.

Nick.

Cost me £235 for the front bit of the bonnet where the badge is going over the top and then down the bottom where the full beams are and then round to the sides. covers every bit of paintwork

2 weeks! I had mine away for 6 weeks for a respray because the insurance took so long approving it. Worth the wait when it comes back nice and shiny and less the stone chips...and now knowing it will stay that way with the film on! I swear it felt quicker getting past the ton on the way back hehe

I know your right but I really miss not using it, I also know that I'll be quicker getting past the ton because it'll still be Rosso Red, the fastest colour, te he! hehe

Well you could always wrap the bonnet in cling film...nice n cheep...no stone chips and get that authentic burned rubber effect without the tyre wear!

Mine cane with Armourfend when I bnought it 3 years ago, and there are NO stonechips at all on the nose, but I do wish the owner had the mirrors done, as they look sandblasted smile Nobody notices the line of the edge.

That's what I paid too for the same work.

After my Griff was resprayed I was disappointed to find that I picked up one or two chips every time I used it, so after a few weeks I had the 'Armorfend' done. Ok, you do have to be careful not to push polish into the edges, but otherwise it's virtually un-noticeable and now I never worry about spoiling my paintwork with chips.

And before anyone mentions it, the 'protectacar' people do not cut the film on the car.

Same with my mirrors but I think the challenge would be to get the material to stretch sufficiently without kinking over the awkard shape of the mirror housing. Nick.
