Insurancce claim dilema
Discussion
As some of you may have read my Griff got damamged in Nice recently.
I have now had a quote for repairs and it will cost about £850 quid. My excess is £250. Do I claim or don't I? I have protected noclaims bonus but with the recent horror stories of massive increases for no reason do I risk getting stuffed with a bigger increase than the money I would be claiming, because of the claim?
Last years premium was £546.
I don't want to appraoch the brokers directly yet because if I formally notify the insurance company of the incident it will go against whether I claim or not.

I know someone who's Griff cost in excess of £12000 to put right a couple of months ago after a mishap and his renewal didn't go up at all!
the insurance company probably haven't processed all the paperwork yet, just wait until next year!
You're probably right, I did find it hard to comprehend I must admit!
Well I had a £9k claim on a Chim before Xmas and it had no impact on my renewal in July. In fact my insurance is slightly cheaper this year because there was no point paying for the no-claims protection
If I do make another claim in the next year, even then I only loose 2 years NCB taking me down from 5 years to 3 years.
I'm with Tesco's and frankly if they were to check their drinks section, they'd find out they were one can short of a six pack.
