Thanks everyone!
Looking forward to joining you all in TVR ownership very soon.
Plotloss, if I was a bit richer, I'd have your new 'un and then you could buy that Cerbie you REALLY want
Stuart, preferred colour - some sort t of blue ideally. Interior - not that bothered really. Would like an oxblood leather but never seen one. Prefer the pre-facelift rear lights and the backlit no. plate to the angled one and the bigger lip on the boot .
As Cilla says ... the choice is YOURS!

Looks like I've arrived late to the party!
Congrats mate...get out there and splash the cash NOW.
.Mark. How the hell can you spend 2 years looking for a TVR????? As soon as I had the dosh, I already pretty much knew which car to buy. Test drove 4 in 2 days and done the deal! 2 YEARS???? there's a fine line between fussy and anorak dude!

Mikey, just as soon as you get your Chim, go out sometime late at night, to Hatfield of all places. Since it's late at night, you'll be able to enter the A1M tunnel at about 30mph in second. Wind down windows, floor throttle. Et voila, no regrets.
Let me know how long it takes for the grin to come off...

My kinda guy - the early cars do look better! So .... I guess you're looking for a car like mine then (see profile). Cosmos Blue is THE colour! (this one's not for sale though - sorry).
T/.
Well done one step closer then !!!! Just a couple of notes imho when I was looking for a 4.0l I drove the 96/97 cars and most of them had the old chassis and old brakes (i.e. pre griff chassis and normal 4.0l / 4.5L brakes) and found them a bit soggy ( and heavily prone to rust on the chassis) if you can stretch it make sure you look for one with the griff chassis and the 5.0L brakes I think it was late 97 on (but not one hundred percent sure) and make sure you get the TVR warranty i.e. main dealer or you can add it yourself for £540 per year from warranty holdings if you have the car inspected. Any way if now for the shameless plug mine is sadly for sale due to the arrival of a 5.0L and the betterhalf refuses to have both unless we get engaged !!!! so its got to go if you are in the camberley area looking give me a call
All the best

Nice one, like everyone who reads this forum I've been following your quest for a Tiv for a while. Hopefully you'll get yourself a sorted one.
BTW, tunnels are great, the day I bought mine from a guy in Surrey I had to drive back to Cambridgeshire. It was a hot summers day so the roof was off about 500 yards down the road from the guys house. Anyway my route back took me thorugh the dartford tunnel, pure heaven

Yes Hazy you're right, perhaps I should quantify.
It wasn't 2 years constant looking, the odd weekend here and there, but we did know after a while exactly what we did and didn't want, you know PAS colours etc. Then there was the problem of getting to dealers only at weekends and then they were sold etc. So to say 2 years perhaps wasn't very fair, but I knew I would just know when I drove the right one and was prepared to wait.
