So whats the score with this then ? Is it purley a TVR day out or a general 1/4 mile blast for all comers to enter into ? Where abouts is North Weald ?

The 1/4 mile runs will be for any car from any part of the country. North Weald is in Essex near Epping Forest.
They will stop sighning on after 200 cars have been through the gates. Cost £15:00 per car.

Is this a one off or likely to be repeated?

Not happy to go too far up the leptometer at the moment, without brake upgrade, but definitelty interested for future.

Could be of interest to the Essex and Herts mob whose meetings are held on same day

Do they have any timing equipment or is it just a straight head-to-head race each time ?

I spoke to Tony Huck from Maitland Racing who are the organisers for the day, and a print out of your time and speed will be provided for each run. He told me to expect approx: 6-8 runs.
Will be my first time on ther 1/4 mile in the Tiv. In the past I have simpy attended as spectator. Will be great if we could get a few Tiv's and have a little blast. Even better 2 Tiv's side by side.

Look forward to meeting you all. I will be in my dark green T350c, with de-cats, so if you dont spot me you should be able to hear me.

A bit of advice get there early as it will be busy if you want to race, have raced there a few times in the past not in the Tvr,if the lights are working properly yoou will get a timing slip at the end of each run,it is a bike and car event, each taking it in turn for so many runs then swapping, take a hat it gets hot being an airfield,i will be in the dark purple chim, feel free to say hello, wont be running this time round though.

Racing starts at 10am,i would get to the gates well before 9am to get signed on and scrutineered as early as possible, bring your driving licence and a crash helmet,if you dont have a helmet they will loan you one but it wont be pleasant.

Do you HAVE to do 6-8 runs if you enter?

What does scrutineering involve exactly? Any idea what the safety requirement will be for helmets (might come along with my old karting lid)?

Will anyone object and/or point and laugh if I was to turn up with a bog standard S? smile It's far from a competition car, but I was looking for an excuse to take it out on Sunday. I'm sure a decent hot hatch would post faster times, but it might be a laugh.

Scrutineering involves seat belt check, brakes work and steering, battery secure,no serious fluid leaks etc, helmet spec is not checked if the same as earlier events.

Chris

You bring the S along mate, It's just a bunch of petrol heads out having some fun mate. Glad to see the list growing lads.

Messeage to Paul (Braders), come on son, get the White girl on the strip Paul next to mine. Just the thought of 2 Tiv's having it sounds superb!

On a serious note mate do as you feel. Should be a great day out ion this weather even as a spectator, saves the waiting around for the next sprint.
