V Power

Sorry another petrol question.
After putting a few miles on the clock this weekend had to fill up again with v power.
Car now running on same fuel not mixed with old fuel which was excillium.
On friday car gave of nice exhaust popping noise on overun on downchanging and hill decents.
Now virtually silent just hear popping with roof off and windows down.
Why is this does this mean the engine running better or what?
Wifey thinks it's sounds better i don't makes me want a cherry bomb now
