After aquaplaning the Chim into the scenery in February and battling with insurers for two months I really felt I'd had the TVR wind knocked out of my sails. I'd put an awful lot of time and money into bringing the 500 up to scratch and after some deep soul searching decided it was time to move on.

No longer would I tolerate the oft heard 'They all do that sir'rolleyes, search the web for information on which manufacturers parts bin a particular widget came from or trawl the classifieds and eBay for Leven shiny bits. I was going to buy a proper car with matching parts numbers easily identified from a microfiche at the (get this) dealership! I was going to buy a M5 or S8 and off I went to test drive them.

Which is why I'm picking up the Tuscan tomorrow smokin

Shhhh, secret squirrel.

I'm pretty sure Mrs F can read through the back of my laptop screen and the car's a surprise. I'm having to fly there though.

Nice one! You're gonna love it!

I went the same route - two Chims, a crash and then a loooong break, and now have a Tuscan. smile

Thanks s6boy. Much appreciated. Have replied.

Sorry all for being so secretive but I was worried that if I gave out too much info I might get pipped at the post. Flew to the Isle Of Man this morning, viewed the car, handed over the readies and caught the ferry back to the mainland. Phew!

The important question is...

Does the wife know? & if so, are you currently sitting in a B+B?wink

I'm afraid to go to sleep. I can hear her breathing. Waiting. Waiting for me to weaken.

So did you crack!? Get up at 4am to go for a blast!

Lovely looking car. It's funny how the OHs think we're crazy when they first see the car... but eventually they come round to loving it.

Enjoy. Shame the weather looks like it's going downhill again. It's been so great not to have rained for a week...
