Which TVR next, for upto 35k? Ultimate Cerb or Tusc 2 S
Discussion
I'm looking to come back to TVR after a spell without one. I have considered Ultimas, Nobles etc but feel drawn back to a TIV. A really good Tuscan 2 S is currently top of the list. Really like the thought of the top off job for the trip down to Le Mans next year. Loved the Cerb but I wonder if I should try a Tusc 2.
I can't see there being much between them performance, handling wise, correct me if I'm wrong. (speed six sorted for the last Tuscans???)

Definately the Tuscan II convertable...It would have been(is) the new Griff if TVR had stayed in business long enough.
Failing that, if you've got that much to spend, why not restore a classic TVR or build a Monster. Personally if I had £35k burning a hole I'd have to scratch my Utima GTR itch.

I have a very late Tuscan 2 S and it's stonking. Dom at TVR power said good things about my Speed Six which was nice to hear. I think a lot of work was done by the factory from 2004 onwards but it was too sensitive an issue for them to admit to it. The handling of the later tuscans is very much improved too. Post Sagaris (2005) the Tuscan got the 255 tyres allround and bilstein dampers from the Sagaris. The only thing it didn't get was the Saggy's wider track. Having owned a Saggy before, and it was spectacular in the wiggly bits, I think the Tuscan runs it pretty close, something I couldn't say about an unmodified mk1 tuscan S. A trip to the nurburgring will reveal all but so far I'm really impressed.
I decided I love convertibles and the thought of a convertible that drove like a Sagaris was too tempting and I made the switch. I reckon above 100 mph the tuscan's more slippery shape makes it the car to beat. Sadly I've never driven a Cerb, I'd love to, they are seriously cool cars but the fixed roof would be why I don't have one at the moment.

Not a Sagaris?
Considered it but something about them doesnt stack up, I have read a number of reviews about the fab handling, grip, composure etc but there is also an element of them being quicker on paper than in the real world that I have sensed, not that I have ever driven one..... The Tuscan always seems to deliver the goods performance wise in any review. Plus I am not sure that the slight premium over a Tusc II is worth it..?I would go down the Ultima route but I would want to go for the full fat version GTR720..this is currently coming in at a shade under 90k for a factory built one. I may be pushed to get that sort of cash together before LM.. So a Tusc II S (that is still damn quick, but not in same league as a full fat Ultima GTR) and looks the danglies seems a fair option.
What are the sensible (engine) modding options for a Tusc II?
