removing TVR stripe..?
Discussion
I am looking to buy an S,
i like the look of this:

it's not too far from me, but the stripe along the side really puts me off, and makes me think it would be harder to sell on..
Would it be a begger to remove??

Got to say i think the stripe looks good,it certainly wouldn't put me off, infact i'd prefer it!
I know a mate who removed similar transfer with careful use of a hot air gun,but if it's been on a long time you might have colour difference issues after removal,ie faded paint against what was covered by the transfer.

Wht do I keep getting attracted to these cars ?? I've had a Chim but these cars just keep talking to me !! Very attractive and traditional looking I guess.
When did the dashboards chnage in them ? I like the look of this one but is the later one different ?
Dashboard changed from S3 onwards (probably some S2's had new style and no-doubt some S3's the older because its a TVR When did the dashboards chnage in them ? I like the look of this one but is the later one different ?
) but
they are all a bit more traditional in look than Chim & Griff, though I am somewhat biased...........Hehe. There was what looked like a very nice S3C (complete with stripes) on sale around the time I picked up mine with a lot of people asking the same question. Might even be the same one. They do seem to be something of an acquired taste.
Difficult call - obviously the chassis and to a lesser extent the oily bits are the most important things to look for. On the other hand, a reasonable number seem to have emerged from winter hibernation, so it looks like you have a reasonable choice now.
Go and see a few, if you haven't already. You may find features you don't like on the screen work out okay in real life, or indeed vice-versa. Also, there will be a certain amount of wear and tear present on all of them by now and/or differing levels of restoration so it's worth getting an idea of what is a good standard.
