Quick question, from your experience who is best for me new Griff(2nd car) as they are 4 quid difference. Other companys were a lot more.

Hagerty £243 Ex £350 Bonus is it is a classic policy so no need for no claims bonus, even though I have 2 full lots anyhow.

A-Plan £239 Ex £300 Bonus is girl on phone had a well husky voice. And I get to talk to her again smile

Any thoughts?

hagerty quoted me £380 for my tuscan,a-plan who i was already with quoted me £650.hagerty dont take ur no claims into the deal as its a restricted use policy which meant pleasure only.this was no good to me as i like to go to work in it.after speaking to a-plan they re-quoted me and they came back with £420,so for £40 more i can use my tuscan whenever.

acordind to a-plan the insurer they were going through was willing to knock their commision off to keep me on their books, just shows what a bit of competition can do.

anyway it might be worth checking if they have quoted for the same policies?

kev.

One of the most important considerations is a policy with an agreed valuation, without this in place some of the book valuations are a lot lower than you may think in a total loss situation.

To reinforce Kev 1366's comment -if you use the car for work, other than commuting, then the Hagerty one is no good as I tried them before ending up with A Plan.

I'm self employed so I even insure my wife's Mini for business as even nicking it to pop to the post can be construed as business use.
But if you travel out from work on your company's business at all, even once a year, in theory you still need business use.

I would like to use it to drive to work on the odd day, but wont use it for work purposes at all. Nor track days as I'm not into that.

Hagerty are great if you are happy to settle for very restrictive mileage. I switched to A Plan this year as they were very competitive. I then had a claim, my first in a zillion years, 5 weeks later! A Plan settled it to my complete satisfaction (it was a total loss on a less than 3 yr old Tuscan) and only charged me a few quid extra to upgrade to the Sag. Can't fault em.

I've recommended Peter Best to many of my customers for more than 10 years. Seldom have I had a customer come back to me and tell me they found a better quote.

My Griff is with them on a Classic Policy ( mileage limitation(choice of)). Fully Comp agreed value - £50 excess. No fault protection (100% recovery). UK and Euro breakdown/recovery (to final destination if needed). All glass covered - screen only with excess (£50). Upto £1000 cover for criminal/attempted theft damage without loading at renewal. Cost me £284. Haggerty and others were close on price, though not better, but PB gave more cover. Good luck wherever you go.

Just been through this as im sorting out insurance fro a Griff im collecting over the weekend, was insured with A plan on my impreza up until yesterday, but their renewal quote was taking the piss so went elswhere, hence didnt bother trying them for the Griff,so tried a couple else

Heratige £708 with a £350 excess

Mannings £492 with a £100 excess (extra £1000 excess for track cover)

Hagerty's £248 with a £250 excess

All quotes the same cover limited miles, garaged, wife named as well to drive etc.... hagerty gave an agreed valuation on the car as well though so went with them

I'm with Classic Line for my S3 and have had quotes for a Griff 500 based on my current policy, 6,000 miles, unlimited use, ungaraged, windscreen excess £75? and based on my previous medical history (Heart Attack/Triple By-pass) they quoted £329 plus £350 excess. Seems fair to me.
