Trevor wilkinson 1923-2008
Discussion
It is with great sadness that we must announce that our patron and founder of TVR, Trevor Wilkinson, passed away peacefully in hospital in Menorca this morning after a long illness. He was surrounded by friends. He was 85. His obituary can be found on the TVRCC website. We would like to pass on our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
This is heartbraking news
I've made a very rewarding life off the back of TVRs. I remember cycling as a young lad from my parents' home in Ripon through to Harrogate just to look in the showroom window. My dad bought two cars from Harrogate Horseless Carriages (not TVRs sadly although one of the cars was a lovely Triumph Stag, Triumphs being my other car pasion and TVR used a lot of Triumph bits in the 70s so a connection of sorts) and I remember lusting after the then current wedges
I was fortunate enough to go on to work for HHC for 8 years before setting up on my own and have worked on virtually nothing but TVRs for the last 14 years and for one reason only : I absolutely love them!!
To hear of the passing of the founder TW is truly saddening, but I hope he's now revving his favourite TVR model forever. Thankyou TW for starting TVR, I cant imagine any other car giving me so much pleasure over the years
RIP great man
