It was a fine day at Silverstone on Sunday for our round of the 750mc roadsports challenge. The car got off to a shakey start in qualifying as after 1 & 1/2 laps Paul was pushing into Maggots corner too hard on the brakes and span into the gravel trap at over 100mph. Unfortunately he was not able to re-start. But fortunatley he did put in a reasonable time and qualified 12th in that one lap!
In the race Paul got off to a cracking start and by the time he got to the first corner he was 8th. After a good battle with the David Gerrald TVR Griffith and a Lotus Esprit (which was much quicker than us on the straights due to one hell of a turbo) he managed to finish a credible 5th position behind the inevitable 2 Morgans and yellow Prosche and another black Porsche we hadn't seen before. We all think that after the not too good qualifying he had a bit of the 'red mist' and really got his head down (typical racing driver!
