Fuel Protest M6 14th June

I am wondering about going to the VSCC race meeting at Oulton park this Saturday; generally a good day out with plenty of expensive stuff being driven very hard so worth going - anyway a friend says there is to be a rolling fuel protest this Saturday on the M6 between Lymm and Carnforth, which is right where I will be unless I take a slow off Mway route, so does anyone have any idea what the time is for the protest, where is the start and which way they are going first?

I believe it starts at around 0830.

If I were you I'd come off at J16 and head through Nantwich, and then go north toward the circuit.

Thanks for the thought the problem with it is I'm coming down from Preston not up from the midlands. The local paper today (not the most reliable of things but hopefully right here!) says the protest is starting at 8.30 at Lymm and going North to Carnforth for lunchtime (ish) then returning to Lymm by approx mid afternoon so if that is correct we will be OK as we are doing the cunning plan and leaving home at 8.15 so may beat it with luck!!

If you're in Preston it may be safer to use the M61, then M60, then M56.
