I now have the pics of my Spain trip on my iMac, thing is, I have never been able to figure out how to get them onto PH or, how to set up a fotango thingy. I always end up not being able to download something or other.

Does anyone know how to download them from a Mac (ie no right clicks!).

Alternatively, would anyone be able to download them for me if I email them across. I suppose they will have to be low resolution? which is a shame cos they look cracking at the higher res!

RIGHT! I have managed to get them onto fotango... thing is, they are pretty small even when you zoom in, so...

how can I post them on PH so they are nice and sharp... a bit like that pic of your Tuscan Steve (Luca)!

I presume from looking at your occupation Steve that if I did have to take you up on your kind offer you will have no problem with Hi-res images, will the PH site though? There are about 15 of them!!!

Send them as High Res, keeping them to about 8-10Mb per email, I reduce them down to 800x600 for the web, which chops the size to about 40-80Kb per pic, while still retaining sharpness for a web based image. I'll add your details alongside the pics, so that people can contact you if they want to know more about them.

So send 'em through, and I'll put them up tonight probably.

Jess,

The addres in your profile

h t t p : / /pics.fotango.com/pictures/0400317280_001P.jpg

Didn't (I don't think) come from the "get a link to my picture" button

If you do that it gives others the right to view your picture (if you didn't you could just change the numbers to show the rest of the piccies in you area)

Burrianna, see my profile, is that not sharp enough for you, all done with Fotango

When you have the piccy in fotango (picture displayed) click on the "get a link to my picture" button (on the right)

This should open another window just containing the picture

copy that URL (the "h t t p : / / www" etc) and paste it into [ p i c ] h t t p : [ / pic] in a post here and it should come out

Without the spaces obviously

Thanks Ben and Lisa for your guidance and wisdom... and thanks steve for your offer of help

Simpo Two... is that you who was Simpo One, like, another year older an all that, or are you someone different?

Right, off to finish my Spanish diary so I can post it along with the results of my newfound pictorial prowess!

I think I live on the same planet as the rest of us. What I meant was if sending me an email full of piccies, keep each email to 8-10Mb, as it makes opening the email easier for me. The pics, when put up on the web, are typically 40-60kb each.

Luca - what Simpo meant (I think) was that sending anything above 1Mb is half a day on a ye olde BT steam-driven dial-up very-narrow-band modems. Depends a little on hardware, yes, but I just couldn't handle a 10Mb e-mail on mine even at a reported 50kbps.
