For all the TVR victor meldrews.
Discussion
Right where do I start. There is too much negativity about TVR's. I just wanted to share my last week with mine.
I bought my Tuscan speed 6!!!!!! 7 months ago with 21000 miles on the clock, no known rebuild on the engine and it was an early one (W reg).
Well in the last week I have done a 1000 miles around Scotland going up the A9 from Edinburgh to Ullapool and then touring back through Fort William with trips through loads of one track roads etc with no hiccups, and it has poured down with rain. The mileage is now 28900. That is almost 8000 miles in 7 months. I have had to replace 2 rear Gaz shocks and a slave cylinder all due to the seals drying out after not being used.
All I want to say is what a car. I love it, all the niggles as well.
So my moral is buy a TVR and use it. I for one took the plunge and have never looked back.

No no no
don't use it.
They all breakdown, are worth nothing, and are basically s
te. If you use it budget £100000 per year for maintenance, and be prepared for it to fall to pieces around you
As many many non owners have told me, over and over again

ROFLMAO ...my other half has had a Tuscan, then a Sagaris for the last 4 years, as her sole daily driver, 32K in the Tuscan and now up to 31K miles in the Sag, lots of touring, a few track days a year...no real probs other than niggles - accelerator cable here, adjust door there etc.

There will always be some clever tw@ whos brothers, girlfriends, cousins had one once and it "had so many problems he got rid of it" ..etc ..whilst all the many thousands of happy owners carry on to enjoy them

Ive got a 2000 Tuscan 4 as my daily drive.
I just drove back from Germany on Friday and spent half my time nodding and smiling at other motorists as they drove past waving, taking photo's and giving lots of thumbs up messages.
Never crossed my mind that the car wouldnt manage an 800 mile run.

I purchased a 2002 Tamora in Nov 2005. Since then I've had the engine rebuilt and upgraded to 4.0L RR (my own choice), Nitrons fitted, ACT Air box fitted, JP sports exhaust fitted, and an Alloy Radiator.
The niggles I've had with it are:
1. Oil pressure sender unit leaking,
2. Faulty power steering Rack - had to be reconditioned,
3. Faulty door ECU - had to be reconditioned,
4. Faulty heater amplifer unit - Repaired it myself,
5. Faulty display (missing line syndrome) - Replaced with new one,
6. Clutch went after 21,000 miles,
7. Windscreen frame needed to be reglued as it was coming away,
8. One front fog light had to be glued back in,
...... but I still love my Tamora
and would not part with it for anything other than another TVR

Chimaera 400 - 12,000 in 12 months, nary a problem
Cerbera 4.2 - 11,000 miles in 10 months, quite a few niggles, nothing that stopped me motoring
Chimaera 450 - 8000 miles in 28 months, quite a few problems, stranded once.
Built to be driven, so shut up and drive!
