I had left the cover of the Cerb last night and its been raining all day, so what the hell I'll drive it to work tonight.

Did not see any sports cars out and only one Porker!
Loads of nice safe Audi's!! I could have used mine!

Seeing as how there is a tread about TVR owners being thick, what do you think?
Am I thick? Some info to help you decide.

a/ If I wait for the rain to stop, I'll never drive it!
b/ had a smile all the 40 miles to work!
c/ Quite a few cars slowed down as they overtook me to have a good look and then went past!
d/ Car never missed a beat, although I could do with some new wipers.
e/ One of the works lads followed me across junction and asked about the wheel spin! "What wheel spin I said" wink
f/ All the day shift said "I didn't think you'd bring that out in this weather"!
g/ Have not driven it since Thursday and was getting withdrawal symtoms!
h/ It looks so nice out there, even in the rain!

I just get in mine and drive it regardless of the weather. If it is dry, i take it easy, if it is raining I take it very very easy, never lost it yet.

I do have the added advantage of taking mine out on a track a few times and really pushing it, and it don't much. smile

Ha! It was nice weather in Holland all of the day (who cares about all of the night), so I "even" took the Wasp (1800S) out. Thanks for the TVR smile (Old?) Geezer!

If you mean I was driving at the speed limit on the Guildford bypass and they wern't?
Yes I do admit to being rather sensible when I realised I'd get to work far too early!! 12 hours alone on nights is enough for any Thicko!

Hi Tim!

I see you have appropriated one of OUR cars!!
Thought all you Dutch chaps prefered big Yank V8s??

How does the S6 compare to your fellow country men's motors?

Anyway good luck with the car, you don't need it with the weather I see!

Hi Steve! We do have a nice active TVRCC Holland, so there are more of us!On the other hand, with a TVR you're the only one out every day.
I own the S6 for 4 years and I think it's ab fab. It's jaw dropping for other road users in Holland and just to keep you informed: they do have difficulties keeping up with the acceleration. Nonetheless my 1800S (owning her for 10 years now) is still my first love.(Don't intend to insult the missus now).

Cheers, Tim

You're braver than me. Least yours (apparently) doesn't leakwink. I took mine out yesterday night and it was really cloudy and it poured down when I was in the pub, we got out and it had stopped and put the roof down. Good night, really enjoyed it. TVRs rule. Use it all you can, I always arrive at work in a better mood when I drive the Tiv in and I guess you do too.

Rain just make the cascade colours look better (unless of course you don't like them even in the dry). Only drove 100 miles today, probably about the same tomorrow, rain or shine.

We took our Chim out yesterday. We did Twickenham to Steyning leaving at 12:30 yesterday and back again leaving at 10:00pm for a family wedding. It sure was wet. There was a boxster and an XJ120 at the wedding.

Parking was in a field down a muddy track. I wanted to go grass tracking!

No, mate not yet. Mine is still running OK so I'm waiting a little longer for the new one. Rebuild has started and it will take a couple of weeks from my go ahead to get it finished, and a week with the car off the road to fit it. So I'm looking at the end of September or may push out until the end of October.

Not looking forward to spending the cash, but I am looking forward to the new engine! The running in period will be hell though....

Went out for a run today (in the p155ing rain) but had to abort when the wipers stopped working and the wiper motor tried its best to set fire to the engine bay.frown
