Hmmm, wonder if they are selling off their demonstrator stock cheap? Always a silver lining

Yikes!

Well that will give me the final push to use Racing Green if that's the case. Not sure what's been going on in Mole Valley lately - had mixed results with the service dept.., and two of their (IMO) best guys have left... then there's all those Alfa's appearing on the forecourt...

Would be a shame though

If what you say is true Tuscan29 (and I have absolutely no reason to doubt you in anyway) is it your opinion that this is related to warranty claims in some way?

It must be enormously difficult to broker between a renegade business man on one hand and customers on the other who have had dreams potentially shattered.

Add then on top of this the pressure of taking a minimum number of cars etc being a dealer must be bloody hard work.

This however doesnt excuse certain dealers attitudes!

Isn't this just another example of the flux we've seen in the TVR network in the last few years?

Sad to see Mole Valley go but there are other dealers starting up. The lack of continuity is annoying but we've got a similar number of dealers to that of two years ago...?

After 2 years and 2 Tuscans I did 18 months ago (and it was only Hawthorn's efforts that kept me happy for that long - thanks Rod)

Isn't Austec one of the ex Mole Valley, or is me memory playing up again.

I do recall comments from when I was on my factory tour saying that London and the S/E make up a large proportion of TVR owners and sales. For dealers to be disappearing in this area can't be a good thing.

I'd like to know the reasons.. but as with Fernhurst, I'm sure we'll never get the true story...

so what is the issue?
Sales of new cars down?
forced number of new cars that you have to take?
Sales of 2nd hand down?
Not enough margin?
Warranty work?
general market conditions
competition?
Surely there is always plenty of servicing work?
....?

I didn't think there was any mystery about Fernhurst dropping the dealership - they were loosing money on new car sales due to the volume of warranty costs that the factory expects dealers to pick up.
Fernhurst were only selling TVR's as opposed to the situation at Hawthorns where it is a relatively small % of their business.

And their workshop was clogged up with TVR's
without cylinder heads or engines... so no
servicing revenue either !!

I do know two thing...

There were 7 speedsix engined cars lying around for months at Redhill waiting for engines to be returned from the Factory whilst mine was one of them ....

Up until a week or so ago they hadn't had any new TVR sales since April/May....

Spoke to Austec today as I pick up my car from them.
AUSTEC RACING TOP GUYS. They sorted out an intermittant problem within 1 hour of them having the car (this after about 4 weeks in another garage).
The guys that run Austec, 1 off them used to work for Mole Valley, I may be wrong but that was a while ago, set themselves up and from my own experience they certainly know their stuff. Sad to hear this about MV, but only used for spare mirror and TU paint, and found them OK.
I know where my car is going for service in the future.
First proper drive in over a month, without it cutting out, how I enjoyed (except having to take my better half for some retail therapy )
Still did not wipe the off my face though

It was a pleasure Mike, shame it had to happen in the first place.

Just so you chaps are aware, Tvr do read these threads, of that fact I can now be 100% certain. Oops.
