Now if I were to buy the Tuscan on classifieds

1. Could I get a simply roof added to keep me dry when caught out by the weather?

2. Is it simple enough to service by non franchised?

1) I've heard that an S roof will fit. Can't prove it but it seems logical given the era.
2) Depends how good they are and also what your particular Tuscan is made from, engine etc. Tubular steel and GRP is no secret, it's the other bits.

I thought about one of these ,until someone told me about the SEAC
For that sort of money you can buy a 500 Griff
no probs with the roof and easier to sell
I was thinking about the twin turbo Griff but theres no room for a passenger

Very nice motor that one, been on a few run outs, as for serving it is a rover based tuscan so should be no problems there. yes a lot of the body is from/based on an S , never seen a hood fitted might be worth alook at though to see if it can be done.
I know Grant-tuscan has a roof type affair on his AJP version (the one in the mannings adds) might be worth speaking to him about how to go about it.

Harry

Edited to add just found a pic of a similar roof thingy that grant has on a differnet tuscan

Watch what you buy though Richard .. william ball has had all sorts of trouble with his new (supposedly) top-notch tuscan .. make sure you get it checked if you buy it or you could be in for alot of heartache.
looks good though

Gemini, Harry's right I have soft top for my Tuscan. I had it made by a local auto-trimmer, was pretty straight forward - it un-bolts and stows away in the boot.

Re servicing I am lucky as I live a short drive from Steve Howard's workshops (he converted my car and pretty much knows every thing there is to know about Tuscans and TVRs in general) so he's been able to keep the car A1.

Most good specialists should be able to look after servicing as the cars are fairly simple.

Had one, want another one, they are totally bonkers would recommend buying one that is already converted and road legal, and at present a couple available, I new the Yellow one from before it was converted, had a good chassis etc and to my knowledge is a good one and uses fuel injection.
Always speak to the Tuscan experts like Steve Howard first.

Hey, that's my Tuscrap! I'm sure there's good and honest ones out there, but be very very very careful.

The yellow one for sale seems pretty good - the guy
posts on here regulary and is very honest - so just
give him a call.

As others have said - it's pretty std TVR stuff
Rover engine, steel chassis, grp body.. no roof..
and bonkers.

I believe that’s Tweety’s cars, I saw it parked at Brooklands when I went to a Mini show there, it looked very nice.

Ah - yes it is tweety's car - I did not want to mention it.

I know the only thing he find's wrong with it is...

it's too quiet..

Sounds like he is after a SEAC again...!
