People say they have a cham blue or cham green tiv. Whats is the difference? Is it the same colour? or does it depend where the sun is when they refer to their car?

I saw a lovely Cerbera at Duxford last year and the owners told mem it was Chamaeleon Green. It had many shades of green as you walked round it but it was definitely all green, no blue.

They are definitely different colours. The chameleon purple has a really obvious purple phase in the colour and my chameleon blue, whilst in some lights can have a slight magenta tinge to the blue, it couldn't be confused for a purple, The chameleon green is exactly that - a range of greens and never getting closer to blue than a turquoise.
Hope this helps.

Reminds me of the difference between a stoat and a weasel...

...a weasel is weaselly distinguished because a stoat is stoatally different

These guys do all the different paint types:
www.rage-extreme.com. Some slightly different names, but all the cascades/chameleons, etc. are there in one form or another.

My favourite: www.rage-extreme.com/gallery/spectraflair/index.asp.

Metallic - metal flecks
Starmist - larger metal flecks
Pearlescent - multi coloured flecks
Topaz and Rosso go in here as they are pearlescent and then some, a little more than pearl but substantially less than the special effects paint.
Chameleon/Reflex - Basically the same thing, up to 3 colours
Cascade - 6 colours over a base.

Ironically paint cost aside the more complicated the paint the easier it is to spray.

Spectraflair and the Cosmos colours are outside this list but priced like a Chameleon/Reflex.
