Just a quick post to congratulate Darren Smith (Retrowheels) race Tuscan and his Team who helped steer his car to first place at Oulton Park on Saturday in a much shortened race due to earlier problems in other races and the 6-30 curfew of the circuit. It turned out to be a well contest race and perhaps a little race strategy helped as Darren won by a short margin after timing his pit stop to perfection. This was my first time of going to watch him race after meeting him at Chatsworth earlier in the year and being invited along but other issues have stopped me from attending, i shall be going again and wish him luck in the next round of the Tuscan Challenge again at Oulton Park October 11th good on you matey with all the doom and gloom around you gave me something to cheer about.
Regards
Graham Corbett

Great to see you again Graham thumbup..

For the record though , we didn't win.

The Big Budget ,700hp Aston was clearly the quickest car - and so it bloody well should be - although we were the 2nd quickest .

Very unfortunately ,the race was cut from 35 mins to around 20, we pitted late and allegedly (the subject of much controvsey yikes) took less than the alloted minute to stay in the pit.

Monumental confusion from the timekeepers meant that we got awarded 1st place..

Surprised is'nt the word , we expected and deserved 2nd IMO.

Comments were passed and appeals lodged ,and now ....

We're 6th place,after being given a 1 lap penalty... Spiffing hehe.

Cant wait to get back racing with the Dunlop Tuscan's and BARC.

See you at Oulton next month Graham, where things should be a lot better run.

Sorry to hear this Matey but still Cheering your win
Misserable bleeders eh Darren im just of to let his tyres down and put pepper in his eyes the furore dosent only happen in F1 then.
Well you know what they say next time then. What i understood is that when from the commentary you had 1 min 20 secs left before being penalised if you had not pitted on that lap and unfortunately the reason that the GTR was delayed was that most all other cars pitted at same time causing some slower cars going into pitlane in front of him probably causing him to take a longer pit stop than he immagined leaving you approx 4 secs in front at the end of race better brush up on my interpretation of the rules and get my stop watch fixed and perhaps some of my spelling

They just wanted to make sure a TVR was not going to win an Aston Martin challenge race, very well done Darren, it's laps that count and you got more in than the others, see you at Oulton Park soon.
