I understand that the Racesport car is out after a pace car incident on the Start/Finish line at Silverstone.

I understand that the car hit the wall whilst taking avoiding action, after being T-boned behind a spinning Mosler

The Drivers (several cars involved) were all unconscious and cut from the cars, with one airlifted to Hospital.

The Race continues.

Hope all the drivers are OK

I have just arrived home from Silverstone having been there all day. I did not see what happened but spoke to a number of people including a photographer who was close to what happened at the start.

Adam Sharpe in the No 3 Mosler lost the car as he accelerated away on the rolling start from the front row. The No 2 Mosler was missing from pole and probably allowed the TVR Sagaris to get a run on No 3. Andy Neate in the TVR had nowhere to go and cannoned off the pit wall where he was hit flat chat by Richard Dean in the works Ginetta G50. These were the only cars physically involved which in itself was a big bonus. The No 3 Mosler got away with it and Richard Dean although very shaken was unhurt. Andy Neate wes concious and spoke to rescuers but had to be cut out of the TVR which I understand was pretty well destroyed. Andy was removed to the medical centre and subsequently taken to hospital by air ambulance. The safety car incident lasted for the first hour before racing resumed.

This is such a great shame, and a tragedy for all concerned.
Hopefully nobody seriously injured. frown

On a lighter note, give your support to Owen (Obiwonkeyblokey) in Marcos car 29!

Saw it from the stands and it was pretty shocking, really hope the drivers are ok. It seemed that both front cars both lost grip at exactly the same time, spinning off the track.

I see on the Ginetta page, it says that the TVR got clipped.

A Bit more than clipped.

Totalled, but all said to be OK now.

Driver was Andy Neate, ran on the grass to avoid spinning Mosler...no chance on fresh cold rubber.

Damn shame, I hope trhat we see this car again, but from what I have seen, I'll have to be a new one.

bloody bad luck, poor TVR had no where to go with the Mosler spinning right in front of it before even crossing the start line and then the unsighted Ginetta ploughed straight into him. Best wishes to driver Andy Neate for a speedy recovery.

Hope to see that Sagaris and more TVR's back for Britcar 2009!

I saw it too from the Grandstand. Not nice.

Andy's wife has posted on the Britcar thread and he is in a coma with a broken neck (amongst other injuries) so not as good news as early rumours suggested. I believe it's an induced coma to aid recovery. They can't operate on his neck yet either as he is not well enough.

Best wishes to Andy and the family.

I think it was due to the fact that she was unable to sleep, it was 4.15am and I guess it helps talking to others about how you feel, even if it is on the internet. Probably not many people around at that hour to converse with so here was the next best thing.
