Rear perspex window for a Griffith
Discussion
If you have windscreen cover on your insurance then it should fall under that, so it should only be the £50 excess to pay.
My insurers had a £50 excess if I used their approved supplier or £150 if I used my own, as their supplier couldn't supply and fit a new rear screen they waived the extra excess, and I had a local trimmer fit a new screen with better quality plastic, and a lovely job he did of it too!
Worth considering

PS: Oh, it was about £250 from memory to supply and restitch the screen, which I think is very reasonable considering the price garages charge per hour these days.

I'll check that route out. Do windscreens affect no claims bonuses ?
Thanks

Prob is Lazy if the stitching has gone on the rear screen chances are all of it's about to go
Yeah, the stitching seems weak. Weak enough that hardly any pressure on the window resulted in it going through and the stitching coming away.
Why is it that there's always something to fork out for ?
It's as if the car waits for you to have no more money left and then launches an attack on you with some totally unforeseen issue.

has anybody had any joy replacing a rear screen through insurance though?
I can see how it might work in principle but has anybody actually made a succesful claim
The rear screen on my tam has a small split
Yep, no problem at all.I can see how it might work in principle but has anybody actually made a succesful claim

It's a WINDSCREEN and comes under that part of the policy, as do side windows.
Done it several times.
