Does anyone know if it is possible to downgrade the brakes on the Griff? Do you think it would be possible to fit Nissan Micra brakes?

I only ask as the standard stoppers are dangerous. I mean sure, if you need to do an emergency stop, you stop really quick. Unfortunately, the people behind you don't stop so quick and hence plow into the back of your car.

Of course it doesn't help if the car behind is a knackered old Micra without ABS, the driver is driving too close and has no concept of cadence braking.

I swear, the world is full of morons. Light damage fortunately.

Where's my super smilie... ahh yes

PS. I assume 100% blame for the Micra driver unless anyone knows different?

I'm surprised the Micra did not have better brakes than the std tiny stoppers on the front of a Griff / Chim500!

Sorry to hear that some bu$$er has rear ended you.

I hope you get it sorted soon.

Bob

Oh and if they rear ended you and you stopped for a legitimate reason its their fault. (Assumes you were not brake testing them but they may not have seen the cat/dog/lump of wood/pheasant etc in the road as they were so close and you would not want to hit such a thing)

[Editted to add some stuff and correct some spelling)

Micra bloke rang up last night and said his insurance company had told him that he was 100% liable. He didn't seem too upset by this so all is well on that front.

The stress cracks have really started to come through in the last 24 hours. You can now see exactly where the fibreglass has distorted which you couldn't see a few hours after the accident. Fortunately, the bodyshop says a bit of gel coat and some filler and it will be sorted.

BTW, it was a car pulling out in front of me while I was going round a roundabout that caused me to do a stoppie.
