Hello Everybody

I am a newish boy to TVR’s, but now I have a lovely 2000 Tuscan that runs great [ when its warm and going hard! ] I have driven a few over the years, always wanted one, but when the Tuscan came out, I was sold.
Now I have one, I feel like I am 21 again!
Anyway, I have some good, mown!! land [ 4 acres ] just outside Winchester, and wondered if any of you would be up for a meet sometime next year, in the summer [ hopefully we will get one ]
Idea would be a VERY laid back, just a general get together, and BBQ, mit beer! [ wine as well ]
It would be bring your own grub and booze, I have a BBQ that can be used, and a NICE lady toilet, and lots of hedges for the blokes! You can pitch a Tent if your really keen!!
There are plenty of local B & B, plus hotels, and Winchester is a lovely city to be in. Taxis are reasonable into town as well, and my field is secure as secure is, if your want to leave your POJ overnight.
It would be a Saturday, most likely in May/ June.

Let me know your thoughts, and if you think this is a good idea. I wont be offended if no responses

P.S. I am not a car thief!

Sounds like a 'GOTG' - if you haven't joined already the TVRCC is a great start to meet/mix and regular runs out (Bristol anyway...).
Sounds a great and generous idea. Good luck.

Great idea smile. You may prefer to stay away from mid June (Le Mans), for maximum attendance! wink

Sounds Like a great idea, I lived in Winchester for around 5 years and spent my student days there (what I can remember of it) As long as we can play with the 1/6th Scale King Tiger that would be great...

How far are you from the Centre of Town?

Hi just introducing myself I'm one of the Hants TVRCC members and thought that you might be interested to know that we have our monthly meet at the Milburys (on the A272 Winchester to Petersfield) every second Sunday of the month. I'm sure that you would be made very welcome if you decide to come along and meet us all, we're not all nutters just some.laugh

Thanks everyone. Looks like this might be more than i can handle what with work etc, so if any TVRCC event organisers or general members would like to help out, i am all ears!
I am more than happy to meet you here, to discuss, view the field etc.
My email is on my web site, http://www.mark-1-tank.co.uk/contact.html

May looks like a good month then, as for 400 TVR's, its possible! i think! I will need some help on that one.

1/6th King Tiger running, maybe, maybe even a 1/4!!

Centre of Winchester is about a mile, as the crow flies, no more than 4/5 mins by car [ 2 in a TVR !! ]

I thought the Millbury’s pub was on the Cheriton rd ?, not the 272?, the one on the hill, with a well inside??

cheers

Looks like I have a little competition with the Chatsworth Gathering here, it would be best if you could keep the end of April 2009 free if possible, I may have something happening again at Chatsworth House which I am hoping a few will be coming to.

Directions to the Millburys in Beauworth as follows, taken from Hant website hope they are of use to you.

Our meeting venue is now at Noon on the 2nd Sunday of the month at a 300 year old pub called The Milbury's just south of Beauworth (which is just south of the A272 and west of the West Meon Hut). Do not rely completely on the postcode (SO24 0PB) as it will take you up a small farm road, just north of the Milbury's. The Milbury's is on the North East point of the crossroads with 2 minor roads, the North/South road runs from Cheriton to Bishops Waltham, and the East/West road runs from Warnford to Owslebury. For a better idea, see the Google map link below, to help you plan your route just click on the map and adjust to suit your journey.

We have either the use of the function room on the right as you walk in, or the skittle alley through the main bar on the left and all the way to the back, in the summer months we can also use the overflow car park whcih has a stunning view and park benches where we can sit and eat or drink around our TVRs. For an idea where we may be, please check out the TVRCC Hants forum.

For any members coming from the South, a few of us meet at Micks Burger Van, Portsdown Hill for a small convoy up at 11:30am, use the postcode PO6 3LS, but again, this is not exact, look out for the brown signs for Portsdown Hill viewing point picnic area.

Hope to see you there. I have also put a link to this on the Hants Region on the TVRCC site. wavey

I'd be up for this. The car wouldn't get much of a run though - I'm less than 2 miles from you in Kings Worthy !
