Is there any such thing as a bargain Cerbera? You can pick them up from the classifieds / automulcher from anything over £6k, but it'll cost you a whole lot more than that to keep such a car on the road...

Not unusual for auctions to use terms like this as it gets them off having to verify the miles. If you look through their lots, I wouldn't be surprised if most had similar vague wording...

Of course they are expensive cars to run! Everyone knows that. A Cerbera is still a supercar in my eyes and running costs accordingly

Hmm....you've got me worried now.

When do they normally become unreliable ?
Mine's got 18 years under her belt (whereas most other vehicles that age have already been re-cycled), and still seems pretty ok.

In the current climate, for an auction estimate on an early Cerbera i don't think that's far off the mark to be honest..

I'd be interested if there is any history to back up the money spent / mileage.

Worth a punt if you're feeling brave.

Seems to me that it is worth less than the indicated price. I would say £5K so long as it has a decent chassis. The engine at that miles and without history etc would be a worry but at £5K you could afford to sort it. BUT once you start finding other faults they can soon end up meaning the car costs you a fortune. So if you pay £7K for it plus you then have a load of bills it is soon cheaper to buy a decent known car in the first place.

Having just been out to the Nurbergring and Spa with the rest of the Cerbera boys this weekend,then i find X,s comments amusing.Completed the trip without any problems,and some even managed 22 hot laps of Spa,before the trip home.

To be honest i don't really understand why people are bothering to make constructive replies to this X-TVR..... Not that i have any issue with someone not liking TVR's or having problems with them etc but his comments seem just general aimless rants for the sake of getting a reaction...

I think the general TVR 'public' are well aware of the different models strenghts and weaknesses..
