Been trying to keep up with the "Hood Down all year round" tradition of owingn a TVR, but seem to have frozen my face on the way in to work today! Majorly chapped lips and um very cold. What do other owners do about this? I know it's only Spetember and it's going to get worse.

I have a furry hat without a peak. Suede on the outside fur inside, with flaps that come down and cover cheeks and ears.
Not going to get me in any fashion catalouges but does the job, and doesn't look as silly as Shnozz's devil hat.

Must admit to leaving the roof on to and from work to stop the shivering when I get there, normally have a fleece hat and warm coat for evening/weekend roof off winter blasts, it’s good fun wrapping up warm then going for a blat, maybe ending up in a pub with a nice log fire

I've got a "baseball" hat made of fleece - came from Orvis or Lands End - with ear flaps. Looks ridiculous, but keeps your ears warm. Well, it keeps *my* ears warm. Dunno about yours. That, and it's essential to wear something windproof. A light nylon jacket over a fleece or coat, otherwise the wind just tears through your coat and windchill sets in.

Only joking. I've got a Russian style fur hat which stops me from getting sports car hair. Steve has his trusty PH woolly hat. I usually end up cuddling up to the transmission tunnel if all else fails.

Don't joke. I saw a bloke (well I assume it was a bloke) driving up the M1 in a VX220, through the winter in a balaclava last year. It was bright red. Very tasty.

I think I may have to invest in either a plethora of wolly hats to wear one over the other. Or some of the suitablly unfashionable hats that I have been reccomended.

Just kidding, I just need somthing to keep be warm, I was thinking of the old goggles and scarf combo.

Hi Chris, I too like to max out on the open top opportunities. (Sorry for using the MAX word). I favour a good quality fleece hat and make sure I keep my ears covered. My face gets very cold but soon warms up when I stop at junction’s etc. The engine wash comes in and makes me feel all warm inside.

This is my hat

I have been banned from wearing anything PH related by the other half!! She says posting is bad enough, meeting people is worse, organising the meets is tantamount to heresy, but weraring the clothing is an offence punishable by death or worse.

Take your trousers off and ask her to put them on. If they fit her then find a new woman. If they don't fit then take them back wear the trousers in your house.

If I do that then a situtation like this may arise:

Jack was about to marry Jill and his father took him to one side "When I got married to your Mother the first thing I did when we got home was to take off my trousers.

I gave them to your mother and told her to try them on, which she did.

They were enormous on her and she said to me that she couldn't possibly wear them, as they were too large. I said to her

"Of course they are too large for you. I wear the trousers in this family and I always will. Ever since that day we have never had a single problem"

Jack took his father's advice to heart and as soon as he got Jill alone after the wedding, he did the same thing. He took off his trousers and handed them to Jill and told her to try them on.

When she did she said "I can't wear these, they're far too large for me".

"Exactly" Jack replied " I wear the trousers in this family and I always will. I don't want you to ever forget that"

Then Jill took off her knickers and gave them to Jack.

"Try these on Jack" she said, so he tried them but they were too small.

"I can't get into your knickers" said Jack.

"Exactly," Jill said

"and if you don't change your f**king attitude, younever will!"

Same as mine, only mines black. Do you always feel like singing the Dam Busters theme when you put it on Jon?
