Could anyone recommend an insurance company that does 'laid up' policies?

Just for a few months over winter smile

The only time I've seen this offered was an option on a fully comp policy which reduced it to laid up cover (fire/theft from the garage only) reducing the premium substantially. If you really want to insure it long term without being able to drive it, perhaps you could get it included in your home contents insurance?

I'm on a policy with Hagerty and looking at doing similar - I got an email from them last week saying they do laid up insurance for more like 12 months rather than just over the winter. But you (I) can mess around with the mileage limit to bring the policy cost down.

I have used "classic line" for this.
I think most companies that offer "classic" policies will offer it. However, it tends to be for a year at a time, but you can pay extra to convert it into a limited milage policy at the end of the lay up.

I am using mannings this year. It was 700 quid fully comp including track days and It was laid up at the beginning of october (half way through the policy) In the spring when the policy expires they will refund about 350 quid which I thought was quite good.

Re Hagerty - with their normal policy you can cancel it and get back pro-rata less a fee of I think £25 (that was their recommended route if you were changing your car and wanted 2 insured at once) so maybe you could do that for the laid up? Talk to them and see what they advise they are certainly quite helpful.
