Anyone else noticed that Adrian Blyth has sold about ten cars in the last two weeks - not bad for January me thinks - he must be doing something right!! Any new owners on Pistonheads??

Let us know how you are doing and what car you have purchased!!

I was in Hindhead two weeks ago and the man seemed rather pleased. I think he's been selling about 12 cars a months for over 5 month... before that that was even higher! His oldest car in stock was this ocean haze Griffith - featured in october's Evo (Second hand Griff buying guide).
Seems there is a real market for these cars then ! Should help mine retain some value - although it's for sale !

Where abouts is his showroom then? I bought my griff from Adrian a couple of years ago so I dealt with him at his house.

I'm a resent convert having purchased a P reg CHIMAERA in December from Mr Blyth. So far I've broken every promise i made to myself....1.(I'll keep it for best) I use it most days for work whatever the weather. 2.(I wont pose with the roof down untill the summer) I've had the roof down in the freezing cold on new years day. 3.(I wont speed) Well of course I haven't!...
I've also discovered a specialist TVR garage 10 minutes from were i live, PR Wood Motor Bodies in Westcliff on Sea. Touch wood I've not needed his services yet...
Hopfull i'll soon be able to meet up with other TVR owners.

I’ve had to use the services of the aforementioned Mr Wood, and would recommend him.

He did a good job for me at a good price.

Since Fernhurst went solo, their sales have increased substantially. When I was in there a couple of weeks ago they had bought and sold six cars in under a week.

Their servicing department has increased its bookings too.

Why would dropping the dealership increase sales ?

Perhaps they'd be less interested in selling new, and more interested in turning over used stock......

The seond hand market is stronger than the new. Doesnt suprise me when 11 month old 4.5 cerbies are being sold for 35k (55 new).

I bought the blue wedge Adrian had for sale a short while ago. It's a great car although I reckon it hadn't been used for some time by the last owner prior to having it part exchanged for a Griff. The speedo has since packed up, the chassis has gathered some surface rust and the temp gauge gets stuck midway. Oh, and I also ran out of petrol with the gauge showing I had a 1/4 tank remaining!

I found Adrian to be a decent down-to-earth guy who didn't push the hard sell tactic with me which was cool and has been brilliant in tipping off his mechanic to fix the problems. I've had the car for a month now and when the log book arrived I also discovered that Adrian had put the wrong number plates on the car! He confessed to having done that before and we had a laugh about it.

However, the real question would be as to whether would I buy another car from him again? Most definitely. The cars in his showroom are pukka and really look as though they have been sorted with prices that a man like me would be able to afford if I didn't have a passion for 350 wedges.

The only thing a main dealer can offer over and above the specialist such as Adrian is a credible service stamp if you have a new car. Apart from that people like Adrian offer decent cars at decent prices. Now you know why he has had a good January
