Rubber mallet gently does it on corners.don't lever off

To make it easy next time screw thread 'tap' 4 of the holes through M8, then make a turned down bolt/capscrew to screw in to push the cam cover off from the head.

Other better idea now i know about it is a Racing Green gasket!
Part no RG086

The gasket is 3mm thick and allows the cam cover to be raised away from the timing chain and sprockets. Sometimes if the upper chain is not tightened enough the chains will leave witness marks on the inside of the cam cover but excessive tightening of the chains can lead to premature failure of the 1/2 time bearings.

This cam cover gasket allows the cam cover to be raised by 2-3 mm which significantly reduces the likelihood of the chains touching the inside of the cam cover and allows the upper chain to be run very slightly looser without running the risk of the chain touching the cam cover and hence taking load off the 1/2 time bearings, and the chance of engine failure due to debris!

The easiest way to fit these gasket is to use spray contact adhesive on both gasket and cam cover and bond the gasket in place to the cam cover. They also recommend using spring washers on the locating bolts to ensure they do not loosen.

remove spark plug cover, remove the 10mm nuts, remove all the other allen key bolts and HT leads (noting where they go) get a leather or rubber hammer and rag and hit a flat (make sure its a flat surface!) surface on the cover, at a sideways angel making it loose, gently ply the cover from the head, if it doesn't free up get a small chizzle and use that to ply it open (make sure all bolts are removed) once removed purchase a RG reusable gasket, jobs a good'un

they do tend to get stuck quite easily but they are a tough item, worst comes to worst u mite chip some paint on the cover or make marks with the chizzle
