Does anyone know if the baseplate in a 35dlm8 is the same as the baseplate in a 35dm8 or 35de8? The reason I need to know is that I am trying to find a Lumenition or Aldon replacement trigger for my 35dlm8 distributor, but neither manufacturer lists this model for the fixing kit. I need the replacement trigger for my new Emerald EMS as the original distributor doesn't give a strong enough signal.

Thanks

I fitted an emerald to a chim .. very worthwhile. good choice.
I welded the dizzy and the hall effect trigger was fine, guess your dizzy has a problem anyway then?

No, my distributor doesn't have a problem. It's the model with the voltage regulator on the side. The people at Emerald have told me you have to remove the voltage regulator or the ECU can't pick up the signal. But once it's removed, the signal is very weak and prone to interference, so they recommend replacing the standard trigger with an after market trigger.

Yes, could be. It's the one with the black box on the side of the dizzy.

Jools, did you have to change the coil when you fitted the Emerald system, or does the low impedance coil work ok with the Emerald?

You can adjust the pickup to move it closer and so gain a stronger signal, also if you use shielded cable, earthing the shielding at one end tehn this cuts out a lot of interference.
This is how mine runs with my Emerald ECU
