Lets get a posse together and have a dawn raid on the Lotus forum.
Flans and sharpened fruit at the ready. Who's in?

I agree, I fancy an early Esprit myself, over any Trevor.

But seriously though, a chap I work with has an Elise Mark 1 and boy can he drive it.. They do handle really well the only criticism is that above 70 mph it does not have much puff..

Still prefer TVR's though...

laugh I'm a huge Lotus fan too! Other half has a modified Europa which handles and goes almost as quick as my modified Chim500! Have spent 3000 miles in the passenger seat of it through the alps and to the ring. Loved every minute of it. Top cars. The owners are very similar to TVR owners in the petrolhead passion and friendliness departments. Lotus have really closed the gap with the new supercharged products too. I bought my TVR because a Lotus just didn't cut it with raw acceleration and speed at the time. The Handling is amazing, but TVR's have advantages in the adrenaline, space and comfort departments for me. Love both.

Lotus get a big thumbs up here too.

I've had a couple of Elises and they were a hoot. Would have another tomorrow if I didn't have kids!

Always felt that Lotus and TVR owners were a similar breed.

Tricky as I like (and have owned) several of both. Often had one of each but currently all TVR - until the new Esprit arrives. Must say though that the Esprit is my favorite car of all time with 6 owned so far

Any handbuilt car is going to be hit or miss reliability wise IMO. Build quality is much better on the LOTUS though. Had to laugh when I did the LOTUS factory tour shortly after the last TVR back home factory tour. TVR - Iron filings, dust and Page 3 girl calenders. LOTUS - tidy, organised and no naughty calenders frown

That's true, but I am qualified because I have a Speed Six.

The one I heard was Total Vehicle Rebuild, which I thought was quite good.

Good fun and nice that the Lotus boys think we are worth their effort.

I have to say I was tempted by the Esprit V8 Turbo, but heard they were unreliable!

Would be nice to have a day out driving together though!
Perhaps invite the Marcos lads as well?
I'll even ask the GT40 mob if they are interested.

Plastic Magic Run!
