I suggest you try resetting the alarm. Take the live feed off the battery for about 10 to 15 seconds and then reattach and press the remote 'plipper' as you do so and that should reset the alarm.

YHM about 'getting in'

I assume V8 GRF told you how to get into the car ? now just disconnect the battery. that should stop your alarm.

The siren has an internal battery. Stuff something over the siren until you manage to reset it. That will at least muffle it!

If you have a meta alarm, the electronic key that goes into the socket behind the ignition key should turn it all off IIRC.

I have not got round to replacing my siren As they are now discontinued you can however upgrade the existing system - search Meta in threads I spoke to a guy who was recommended he was very very helpful

Hi Mart, Hope you don't mind but i have removed that Paragraph as don't think it wise on an open forum.

How about emailing through the profile your suggestion and tips.

Cheers

ps

I went through the usual process of replacing the batteries in the remote and made no difference and resetting the alarm numerous times by disconnecting the battery

Yes, it thinks someones trying to disconnect the alarm.

That's when you need to reset it.

I am no expert on the Meta, you need Carl Baker 0772 072 3407 www.tvruk.tv for that, but almost all car alarms have a voltage drop sensing system i.e. if the interior light comes on by a door being opened.

The alarm will normally only go off if the preset voltage tolerance is exceeded i.e a spike in voltage rather than a gradual loss of voltage(discharge).

However if the battery has very little charge in it when it is reconnected there may not be enough power to operate all the circuits..like relays etc. which the alarm may interperate as an attack & go off.

I you can turn off the alarm I would suggest once you have recharged the battery that you carry out an electrical drain test to make sure you have not got something that has gone open circuit. Items such as clocks & radios that are constantly powered only take milliamps of draw.
