Just been flicking through some Car Porn - Fast Car magazine. My wife found it on the train and brought it home (no, honest, she really did) and I found myself winding back the years until I was about 19 again.... Looking at the sound systems and all the gadgetty stuff.

There was an article on replacement 6x9 speakers and it made me wonder if anyone can suggest any good ones for either the door panels or the back panel? Could be a minor priced upgrade giving a reasonable return.

Only for when I'm stationary, you understand. Wouldn't want to sully the sound of the zorst.

Carl at Car & Bike installations ( http://www.tvruk.tv/index.cfm ) offers some really good MB Quart speakers - I have a full set on my Griff. /M

Mark, Can you remember off-hand how much the speakers cost?

OK mate, will do. Car will be at RG for a week in Jan/Feb so Carl could fit 'em then.

Carl put the MB Quart 6 speaker sytem into my Tuscan whilst it was at Racing Green having some other stuff done. They are very impressive speakers and the fitting is very professional. Not sure how much the speaker fitting cost on their own as I had a new head unit fitted as well.

Give Carl a ring, he knows everthing about TVR audio and alarms!

In nearly 3 years of ownership 've spoken to Carl at RG a good few times and never managed to spend any money with him. It's awlays gone on mechanical/servicing requirements.

It would be good if I can actually get the pennies together for throwing at him for a little bit of an extravagance for a change!

Lee,

I have the MB Quartz speakers in the doors and in the rear. Great value for money. You're welcome to have a listen at the Hants Christmas Do if you like.

Ha Ha! I was cringeing to myself as I started reading this thread because I too have taken lots of advice off him and not yet given him any business! Maybe some new speakers in the New Year, so I'll follow this thread closely!

... as you were!

Yes please Colin, that will be great. Mine are pretty good, so I need to compare to some of the recommended ones to see if there is a noticeable difference.

I got a quote from Carl and while he only has positive reports on here it sain't cheap and I could nto justify the cost.

I may yet go to him to sort my radio reception (more specialist stuff) but I will be fitting my speakers, wiring and head unit myself (easy stuff....usually!!)

As I already have door and rear speakers I guess fitting new ones should be something I could do too. What is the usual cost of a set of good replacement speakers - MB Quarts are they?

I always wanted to do one of those false rear shelves for the Tuscan, only in aluminium. But could never find a piece big enough, nor the time. Will probably rectify the latter in the next bout of layoffs..! Then 2 rocking speakers and a big fk off sub!
