Paintwork Polisher
Discussion
Real 'Detailers' swear by these. Although it takes longer, I like to 'Do It By Hand'. You can feel the paintwork that way.
I would assume that if you used them in a straight line (i.e with the Paint work grain) the swirls would be kept to a minimum.

Well have to reccommend the 'halfwits 240v' version - worked great for me until I decided to use it to clean, re-gelcoat & polish my boat. Think it was a bridge too far as it died after 4 days constant (8hrs a day) usage.
But now looking for a new one so any products / links apreciated...

I use Maguires (best thing since sliced bread IMHO) and was considering a buffer, but then remembered that if you use a buffer you're not actually touching her...
Rubbing your hands in soft, gentle, sensuous circles over her perfect curves.
I personally put on a very soft pair of pants and just dance to "Word Up" by Cameo to get the polish off...

i agree with two points here
1) Meguires is shit hot, will never use anything else again. This is car show-room stuff.
2) Old soft pants or fleecy tops are the way forward when it comes to polishing - far better than normal cotton cloths.
not sure on the "Cameo" bit, personally I dance to Dead or Alive "You spin me right round". Great tune to polish off too lateconvert said:
Pies,
Not sure what you mean by an 'orbital'- doesn't that just mean it goes 'round and 'round which must apply to all of them. Sorry to be dense. And what's a Porter Cable?
Can I be dense too
, what the f is a porter cable
. I did buy the polishing cloths recommended by Mr Pies and they really are the dogs danglies, so I wait in eager anticipation of the next snippet from the shiny man
