Has anyone had any engine detailing done to their TVR, I have a Cerbera V8 and the engine bay is starting to look a bit tired. What can be done and has been done? Any pictures and contacts much appreciated.

You can get a kit consisting of a can of degreaser and a can of polish from halfords. Its a pain in the arse job but you can get some pretty good results if you have the time to dedicate, its an all day job.

Cheers

That looks like mighty fine TVR porn to me, but has anyone detailed a V8 450, I have changed a few x bolts holing engine panels and a new bonnet stay from Stev Heath eng but has any one had powder coating, chrom, ali polishing done. I've been talking to Criag at TrackVRoad, he seems to say, that there is not much that can be done, but they can do most things, he sent me some pics of the red 4.2 looking very nice. He also said about changing the induction pipes for the trackcar solutions whirlwind ones. TrackVRoad have given me a quote to powder coat Cam Covers, Fuel Rail, Various Visible Brackets, Inlet manifold, Metal Water Pipes, Oil Filler Pipe, Including Braiding Fuel Pipes and Over Braiding on other pipes, would cost £400 labour and approx £425 powder and braiding.
Anyone done anything to the rad and fans, also there bonnet heat linning, have tried cleaning with Tcut, has come up pretty good but if anyone has any more ideas, there most welcome.

thanks for the ideas, so fa

Always nice to see a good engine bay. Its like having a clean set of alloys, seems to transform any car.

Degrease everything first, wipe off, then get to work with the polish (T-Cut is a bit overkill on bodywork items) on my air boxes i've used Autoglym super resin polish, and used a toothbrush on the airbox pipes to get in the grooves with some plastic cleaner.

Metal polish and a toothbrush on metal bits (obviously)

Titanium/stainless bolts?

New intake pipes from Trackcarsolutions or ACT.

Other metal bits that don't come up as easily, you can get a dremmel type tool with a wire brush head and try that (that's what I intend to do)

Good luck, photos of what you end up with!

Anyone got any good websites to check for detailing engine bays because i'm not to sure what i can and can't touch? Don't want to go breaking something! Would love to spend a day sprucing it up as it does look a bit tired? What am i best having to bring it up nice and shiny?

Thanks, Dan

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread rolleyes
