What is the pro and con about both of them.

S3 better all rounder. More comfortable on long runs.
Can fit enough in for Le Mans etc.

Westfield - fun fun fun. (But not much room for anything else!

I guess it depends what you want to use the car for.

I've got 2 Westfields, and my girlfriend has just bought an S3, so I know a bit about both cars.

Firstly, they are totally different types of car, so it really depends what you want to do with them. I race one of my Westfields, and while I used to drive one on the road, it's much more fun on track.

The S3 will be much more practical, with a decent roof, boot, comfy seats, radio, doors, heater etc... The Westfield is not much more than a 4-wheeled motor bike, which can be either a good or bad thing depending on your point of view.

If you just want to do track days, a bit of fun motoring when the weather is good, and don't see yourself doing long distances, or the weekly shop in it, then I'd say the Westfield would be a good choice.

If you need a bit of practicality and comfort, then the S3 wins.

Handling wise, I've not driven an S3, so can't comment on that, but the Westfield is very direct and go-kart like, and easy to throw around. It's fantastic fun, but very impractical!

Try them both, and have fun choosing!

Not sure what to say on this one as they are sooo very different from each other.

Have you driven both of them before? If not reckon you should as the decision may be easier than you think depending on which one feels best for you.

Only car? Do you want to do track days in it? Have you a garage?...............

Yes I have double sized garage with inspection pit. I am not too keen on track day regularly (maybe once a year).

Been on it both and couldn't decide!!

Owned S2 and S4 Sevens in past and bought S3 in July after looking at Westfields.

Thing that persuaded me was practicality issue - use S3 daily to drive into Birmingham, couldn't imagine doing in Westfield as couldn't see where to put laptop etc safely . Even been away with 'she who should be listened to' for long weekends with all her gear.

Practicality issue, as a trainee geriatric, includes ease of entry exit with hood up - seem to remember was difficult in Seven, piece of cake in S3.

Steering on S3 still pretty direct and handling fine and expect that better than Westfield in wet -not downpour stuff, but greasy wet - terminal understeer when turning left off main road caused fair amount of damage to Seven and car waiting to turn right onto main road. While only been out in wet twice since July, S3 feels better planted, which is reflected in weight of steering at low speed / when parking.

One last one - exhaust note. Get great sound from S3 without needing side exhaust.

After all that, it comes down to what you want to use it for and as the Romans used to say "degustibus non est disputandum" - you can't argue over taste.

All of course IMHO

More than 3 track days a year - Westfield

less than 2 - S3

More than 1 long journey a year - S3

Unless it's tour of european race tracks and you've got a trailer - Westfield

The only problem is, when you've taken a 7 on a track it's a hard habit to kick apparently

I've had both a Westfield (2.0 Pinto) and a S3 more or less back to back. Westfield was a second car and S3 the only car.

Performance wise not that dissimilar, apart from top speed where the S3 won hands down. However, the method of delivery is very different - S3 is very refined compared with the Westie, which is more like a go-kart.

As per previous replies, depends on what you want.....
