I would be interested in knowing if anyone who has experience with or works with carbon fibre could mould me some inlet manifold/air boxes for my 4.2 AJP and how much it would cost roughly.

I have mine originals off the car and am willing to post them for copying.

An ACT one for a Speed Six is the best part of £1000... try http://www.actproducts.co.uk/carbon.php

Are you after the whole manifold, or just the air boxes? It would make a huge difference to the cost/complexity which parts you want. There's a lady in Leicester who makes carbon fibre stuff that looked very good quality to me and for prices substantially less than some of the better known commercial suppliers. If you're interested in finding her drop me an email.

I would like the 2 air boxes attaching to each inlet manifold and i wouldn't mind the air filter/front air box lid so 3 pieces in total

I heard from a very reliable source that those carbon airboxes are just for show and you would be better off spending your money on something else

I've seen some pretty bad plastic ones... especially the melted ones.

I understood that the standard plastic airboxes on S6 could go brittle and ingest the bits when it shatters after a spitback? ACT claim up to 10 lbs/ft improvement in torque.

If they are just for show then they also work very well.

you can get a carbon fibre coated air box that works well for under £600

Fair one, a broken airbox is obviously not going to be A Good Thing. However, we're now talking about new trumpets - a straight airbox swap isn't the biggest performance improver. I have no reason to disbelieve my source, and the cost per lbs/ft is quite something if you get it set up correctly using a live rolling road. Somewhere in the region of >£120 a unit, before fitting.

Try PHer Chimjunkie, he has had some experience with carbon fibre, moulded various parts for the interior of his Chim, looks the nuts!
