Help!! Having unfortunately drained the battery (not me! - let a mate have a go in it this morning (92 4 griff) because he's thinking of buying one and he forgot to turn the lights, stero etc off, grrrrr that's the last time!). However the problem is that now the blipper does not disengage the gemini alarm. I can open the doors but when I go to start the car I just get a buzzing noise rather than the growl into life! If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it as I need it for work, now!
Thanks in advance
Andy

Hmm, the only solutions I have heard of is if the battery dies in the key-fob not the car...

You obviously have re-charged the battery?

Sounds like the battery is not charged enough

Buzzing is the fuel pump. Suggest you charge battery some more. It's obviously got enough juice to make you think it's okay, but churning a V8 is a killer.

This may also have your battery

If it stops after a few seconds, yes. If the buzz/whine is lower pitched than it used to be, it's definitely the battery. Lights on + cold weather = dead battery for sure.

Could the 'buzzing' sound be the solenoid trying to engage? If you do not have enough power in the battery to engage the starter motor, you can still get a 'clicking' or 'buzzing' sound from the soleniod. Otherwise, as previously mentioned, the petrol pump makes a noise with the ignition on..(well at least mine does!)...

Do you not have a small manual overide for the alarm? But it also sounds like the battery is flatus maximus.
