As per the title. The TVR is draining it's battery, the motorbike gets little use. Is there an optimate that can be used with both (not at the same time).

I use my bike optimate on the Griff, get a cigar lighter attachment and away you go (as long as your gigar lighter is permanantly wired to be live with ignition off) works a treat

I can't see what the essential difference is between Optimate and Accumate.

AFAIK they are made by the same company and I have Accumates for the TVR and the bike and my old Optimate for the lawn mower - everything seems to work ok.

I think the Accumate charges with a higher current. Or handles bigger batteries...

Looking here: http://www.accumate.co.uk/OptiAccuMateComparison.h... suggests that the optimate is intended for smaller (<50Ah) 12V only batteries

I bought one of ebay, different make, i think it is a maypole, and it charges upto 120Ah!! does the job bang on and it also comes with a plug adaptor to put into your charging point(anderson) so no faffing through windows etc. just search for tvr jump leads or tvr trickle chargers. First year i havn't had to buy a new battery!!laugh

Depending on how cold the weather is it could take 4 or 5 days...
