Don Palmer - worth the asking price?

After a recent brown trousers backwards experience in the Griff I want to do some form of driver training. Don Palmer is recommended in these forums by a few people so I've been looking into his Creative Car Control course.

I gather the course content is negotiable, but the standard offer is priced at £395 and gives 2 hours of 1:1 instruction with Don at Bruntingthorpe, and some additional track time solo. Quality instruction clearly has value, but for this money I could do 3-4 track days with whatever instructor time is included with them. Just interested in people's opinion of whether this seems value for money versus other options.

Didn't rate it too much, especially at the price.

Could have done the same on a local greasy roundabout!

If you simply want to learn safe skid control how about a skidpan? About £10 from your local Plod, if they haven't closed it. But if you're training for a trackday then I suppose you'll have to go to a track.

Do 1st Lotus at North Weald .... much cheaper and better instruction.

Friend of mine did Don Palmers and 1st Lotus back to back (on the same tyres !) and said that the 1st Lotus day was much much better and was a 1/4 the price ...

Have done 1st Lotus and Don Palmer and agree that 1st Lotus much better value for money.
