No.29 is dead....long live No.29....No, not the driver....he is still v.well...live and kicking....in his new guise as 220...I mean the car !

Yes, I am the proud new owner...no I'm not going racing....can't afford it....but roll on those track days next year.

A good buy that one, the car never saw any real action anyway.

Sorry Rod, couldn't resist.

Meow...meow.

Possibly a fair comment in the early (learning) days...but @ CC 2nd time around this year 29's tussle with No.5 provided the only real entertainment...IMHO of course.

Hey...no worries...all in jest.

I know I've a lot to learn...hopefully via the gentle route.

I have had a little joust with No.6 on thes pages....but lets face it, he is way ahead....out there doin it ....and good on him.

Yep, right with you there.
If only I had the funds, Rod is the first guy I'd turn to for advice.
I for one will follow his season next year with great interest.

Congratulations on your new purchase! So there will be 2 black Tuscans with white wheels at the next Coombe TVRCC track day . Both with drivers called Grant - could get confusing

Yes I hope so GT ....depending upon lots of things over the "closed" season ....the main 1 being an engine ....but at the moment if the existing yellow flashes remain ....see www.hawthornsmotorsport.com gallery....they will distinguish us apart.

#39

I have a picture of a very happy #39 ...in d.blue...and one of #34 pre & post race @CC....when looking v.unhappy ....both in bright purple....admittedly back in 1998.

But lets not quibble about Nos....I too have read the unfortunate story....with hindsite, mistakes were made on both sides....the vast majority by the dealer in question IMHO....but my advice if WB cannot obtain redress, is to ask Steve/Wayne @ Insane Racing to sort it...then possibly send the dealer the bill attached to the appropriate legal paperwork.

I have bought #29 with eyes open....nothing beyond what I have seen and/or what is in my hands can be expected/asked for.

Did someone call?

Its a shame car 29 won't be out there racing again - but if that wasn't possible I'm pleased its ended up with a PHer.

Congratulations CB! What are your plans for it? Two seater or leave as is? AJP or RV8? Road legal or track only?

Grant, I have some pics of No. 29 in action at various circuits, they were taken on an old digital camera 640x480 resolution so not exactly top class, but if Rod doesn't mind I'm more than happy let you have copies of them?

2 Seat, AJP8, just modified enough to be road legal otherwise exactly as is now.

Thanks, from my point of view that would be great ...can never have too much info about No.29/pictures to look at ....I'm sure 220 will be on here later to give his approval.

Grant,

That sounds great Very interested in this as I spent some time talking to Rod about doing exactly this a couple of years back.

At the time there was a good Tuscan (minus engine) going for about £15K and Rod estimated that it would take another £10K to convert for the road (including passenger seat and boot) and source an AJP.

Let us know how you get on.

There....there...there now uncle Rodney. ...its not so bad.

Alternatively:

Pull yourself together man

U r a rough tough racing driver with nerves of steel ...ready to take on allcomers next year.

We didn't negotiate visiting rights as part of the deal ...but as u such a nice chap....u can see No.29 as much as u like....(says he knowing that we are 2 hrs apart and would be unlikey to be just a social call).

P.S. When r u hawthorns...and when r u 220 ?

I'm sure 1 day in the past I saw a hawthorns posting that wasn't from u...coz it mentioned summit about u...is it sometimes an imposter !?!?

And how do u do the flag thing ?

Ted: Can I have a small piccie ot No.29 below my handle ? go on....say yes....pretty please.

When I'm at Hawthorns, I still use , unless you see this, it's one of my staff. They won't use my tag on pain of a very slow death.

Most of my posts are via the Motorsport office, then It's the flag bit etc,etc that Ted very kindly set up for me to denote "driver", although under my flag there should be a little steaming pile which helps to describe the drivers rating, Ted has been forgiving on this point. (see no:6, three piles!!!!!)

Tuscan's 26 and 27 are also for sale if any of you are interested, 26 is totally refurbished and "like new", 27 is a special lightweight car @800kgs, with 50kgs of lead strapped under the chassis,(best place to have it.) Ex Jay Shepherd car.

Ah...its good to see the old rivalries between No.6/No.29 (EX) are still on form !

Who will fulfil the role next year...a representative from GT that posts on PH and be able to withstand the barrage of abuse.

Oooohhhh...do I see loads of peeps taking a step backwards....come come now gents....surely 1 of your number can pick up the mantle !?!?

P.S. Its my thread so I can divert it if I like....ner ner.
