Thank You Pistonheaders!!
Discussion
Some of you may have seen my earlier postings on the “TVR Postcards” thread.
I would like to say a big public thank you to everyone who has helped me with my TVR postcard collection. Loads of people have sent me postcards, its been quite overwhelming.
In particular I would like to thank the following people:
Tony and Gill (HHC), Leon, Jonathan, Jason, Christopher Neil, Jamie (Hawthorns), Gareth and Charles (Mole Valley), Phil, Newtown Motors, Alison and Nigel, Olly, Martin, Pietro. Apologies to anyone I’ve forgotten to mention – but because so many of you have helped, it is inevitable I will have missed some.
I had started collecting TVR postcards quite some time ago. By early December 2001, when I posted my plea for help on the Pistonhead site, I had managed to collect 30 different cards. I wondered if I would ever get them all.
It is testament to the generosity and kind spiritness of all you Pistonheaders out there (both individuals and dealers) that I now have copies of 134 of the 155 different postcards that have been issued. This only leaves a further 21 for me to get:
Issue 1 – No’s 1, 2, 3, 4.
Issue 3 – No 4.
Issue 5 - No’s 2(interior), 3(interior), 8, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 23.
Issue 6 - No 13 (rear), 14, 19.
Issue 7 - No’s 3, 14(front)
Issue 8 - No’s 1, 4.
Obviously if anyone reading this has any of these to swap or sell I would especially like to hear from you, although I am still interested in obtaining more of the other TVR postcards. I would also love to hear from other collectors who need cards – I have a number of duplicates available for swapping. Please contact me via my profile.
Thanks once again Pistonheaders – Gotta get ‘em all!!!

Thanks for your comments Faisalkhan. There are some good ideas there.
It was my original intention to make the pictures of the cards available on a website so they would be available for all TVR enthusiasts.
Then I started thinking "What about the copyright issue", and made a mental note to raise this question on the Pistonheads site to find out if anyone knew what the legal position would be.
As this has now been raised - Does anyone know how this should be best approached?
Leaving "good manners" to one side for a moment. Would it be a "legal requirement" for me to get TVR Engineering's permission before I could do this.
Regarding making it easy for people to know what postcards are available and exactly what they are trading, check out Leon Zijlmans excellent Cars on Paper site:
www.carsonpaper.nl
Although the site does not display every TVR postcard picture, It does list every card issued with a description of each and a selection of some of the pictures.
I'd welcome other comments/discussion on whether people would be interested in being able to see all the postcard pictures and especially regarding the copyright issue.

Hi Jason. I'm interested in obtaining any cards!
Even if I allready have a copy of a card, I can swap the duplicates with other collectors I know. In that way we both get cards we still need, and this reduces the ones remaining to collect.
Thanks for the comments regarding the copyright issue. You are right - it would be free advertising for them -I'll contact TVR and see what they say.

Thanks Jason F! The postcard you sent arrived safely.
Can I tempt anyone else to start collecting them?
Get yourselves down to your local TVR dealers and pester them for any postcards they have. Then trade your duplicates for the cards you haven't yet got with other collectors.
Cheers,
