Considering fitting a pair of NTEL's decat pipes to the tuscan, and wanting to know if it's imperative to fit the modified ECU at the same time, or is it something I can do later.

What are the affects of not fitting the modified chip ???? Will it run richer/weaker without the chip fitted. ????? Or will I just loose out on a few potential bhp due to the freer flowing exhaust gasses.

Amazed at the damage the cats do to the triangulated diagonal chassis rail that passes close to the cat. All of the powerder coating is burned off, and the diagonal chassis rail is covered in surface rust. This will all have to be treated when I take off the cats.(Do all tuscans suffer from this........... Powder coating totally burned off, and the diagonal chassis rail starting to rust ???? And will a decat prevent this from happening again, as I believe cats run much hotter than a traditional exhaust manifold does ?????

Just want to know from a "Safety of the Engine" point, don't want to run it without the ECU if the engine's going to run lean etc. Dont' want to risk any damage to the engine.

The surface rust by the cat is a common thing, just get it cleaned up and that should be fine. As for the cats you will be able to run the car fine without the ECU, the lambda sensors are before the cats so shouldnt affect engine running too much, but deffently nothing to worry about. I guess the Chip will just give u a little more power/torque though

I have the NTEL de-cats on my Tuscan S and have not had any re-mapping carried out, torque & engine pick up are noticeably better, the car must have lost about 10 KG in weight as well! I might look into re-mapping once the carbon air box is fitted.

I had NTELs decats on my Tuscan. I had NTEL's big bore end cans also.
No chip / re-mapping carried out either. Didnt notoice much difference to be honest......apart from the sound!
Just had the same decats fitted to my T350. Same story as above.

Many Thanks Guys.......Appreciated.

Looks like I'll get the Decat Pipes off NTEL, and the ECU will come later.
