Where do you live?
What experiance do you have?
Where will it be kept?

Be prepared for a fright......

I was insuring a Porsche 914 at 25 for about £300, and insuring my TVR S2 at 26 for £225.. Full NCB, no points bla bla though..

..it entierly depends on what Model you choose, I think a 4.2 Cerbie may cost you a few quid for example

Cheers
Matt.

Not wishing to harp on...I'd try Classic Line...they do classic and future classics, they mirrored the no claims I had built up on my other car, do limited mileage, you get free Euro breakdown...etc etc etc.

And they beat Tescos by £70 with a lower excess.

01455 639000 is the number.

Right enough of this chit-chat...got to throw myself back into the melee that is SPL

Depends on age.. if you buy an old one (over 10-12yrs depending on insurnace company) then you can get a classic car policy on limited miles.. reckon you'd probably pay under £400 for any of them.

Cheers
Matt.

Sound good, consider S1/2/3 as well.

Over the last couple of months various young drivers have asked this exact question or have asked for advice.

WildfireS3 example.

Check back through some of the threads....

Then you'd probably pay under £300. (classic ins, ltd miles, garaged)

Cheers

Well at 24 a Chim 500 in Elephant and Castle (v. posh bit of London - not!) with one accident and no points on my record was quoted as £4K!!! Thankfully I ended up working out of London and insured at my parents place in N Yorks as a result - about half that price. Tesco was the only place that would touch me at under 25.

Keep us posted on quotes - I'm now 25, have a year of trouble-free motoring in a "high-powered rear-wheel drive sports car" and I'm due for renewal before the end of the year...

Hi

I've just insured the Tuscan for the first time and I’m 24. Had to put the g/f on as she has willingly stumped up half the cost, yes I've got 5yrs NCB and no points, live in Leeds and car is not garaged or has a tracker. It came to a grad total of £1100 and that’s with Tesco on a 10k mile policy. I personally think that’s a bargain seen as when i was 17 fully comp on a Citroen zx diesel i paid £1900 (did pass plus saved 40% off that).
Again I found it hard to find a company that would quote for under 25's and thought it was going to put me off buying the car but thankfully it hasn't.

Hi

I insured my 1999 TVR Chimaera 400 for £750 fully comp. with no claims bonus protection, legal cover and track day cover with A. Manning in December 2002 when I was 25.

The year before I insured it with Direct Line for £1,200, again with NCB protection, because A. Manning insisted on 12 months experience of driving the car, or a similar high performance car.

I have 8+ years NCB which has helped a lot with my premium.

If you would like a list of popular TVR insurers I can give you the name and number of about 10 - just email me.

I hope this info helps.

I'm 25, 4 years NCB and got a 97 chimaera. Tesco's was the only insurer that offered me a "reasonable" quote - £1750 (protected).

roadsweeper - i agree, other insurers said they prefered 12 months experience

just to add - i've got 6 speeding points, which didn't effect the quote, and 10K mileage, again the miles didn't matter...6/12/20K it was the same price

and some more - garage, whats a garage!

tuscan_v8 - just do it and whack it on the egg card, you're a long time dead if you don't.

Yes, my search for insurance on my Tiv at 22 years young, seems to have become a bit benchmark for all young TVR drivers trying to get insurance.

As you're 25 you should be fine getting quotes. Most companies, wouldn't touch me as I was under 25, excpet on, can't remember which, said I have to be 30.

Hi

Just renewed mine. I'm 26 with 1 year NCB and 3 points. Mannings wanted £1000, bit less than last year.... Tried Classic Line as recommended by madant69 and their quote was £675!!

I called Mannings to see if they could match it and he said they couldn't get close. He actually said he was worried!!

Suits me

Cheers

Did you get insurance for less than a kings ransom?

Toying with the idea of a t350 so got quotes from privilege:
T350 £870
Tuscan £856
Tamora £820
All fully comp obviously, im 25 with full no claims and live in devon. insurance was based on an 8000 mile limit and kept in my garage over night.
I say toying because my 911 turbo is ten years old and only costs me £300 fully comp with 7000 limited miles. Still, you re only young once !!!
