Another Speed 12 post...
Discussion
Sorry everyone. I'm sure you're all sick of these threads.
I'm interested in why no one is buying the Cerbera Speed 12.
It has been for sale for, what, over a year now and it still sits unloved. Has anyone here contemplated buying but thought better of it? It is the only one in the world, with a legendary (or mythical) engine and history.
I just can't see why some collector or enthusiast hasn't snapped it up. There must be at least one person out there with the money who would rather have a piece of history than put yet another Gallardo on the road?
Why is the car not being paraded at shows to drum up interest? Has it been seen in public since Legends have had it?

What would you do with it? Put it in a garage and look at it - bit 'spensive for a garage ornament.
The car has been out five times sinces it's been rebuilt at TVR, it needs half an hour of warming befroe you can even turn the crankshaft and by the sounds of it everytime it went out it was being fettled by an F1-style pit crew.
If it had been the real deal - a fully developed S12 road car as promised by PW before he chickened out; something you pop out the garage to get a pint of milk and return four hours and 200 miles later with a big grin on your face - I bet folks would have been all over it.

I would have bought it - if I had 180k. Now it's north of 200k... No thanks.
I seen it last month on a site for sale for £120k.I've looked for the past hour to try and find it again but cant.
If they couldn't sell it at 160k last year what make them think they can sell it for 200k????
Most of us lower the asking price when we cant shift something LOL
I would imaginge the amount of money it's had spent on it that the £160k I think it was for originally for sale at would have been a lose. I think I saw a figure of £275k recently.
I think the problem with the car is it's a complete mongrel and far as I understand it, it's not a race car although I think it has some bits off the race cars that were at the factory, it's not a dev hack, like L110 with any history and the owner had lots of parts made for it so it's a one off Frankenstein with no 'real' history.
So it's really only of interest to a very well heeled collector who's fanatical about TVRs who want's it because it's the only running Speed 12 and as mentioned you can't really pop out for a quick 100 mile trip to the shops for a pint of milk in it
That said I'd still have it if the Euro numbers came up.....

I didn't realise it was still for sale? It made an appearance here:

I assumed someone had bought it privately and that was how it got there...
